You started early in Spring. You nurtured your seedlings, your delicate plantings, your cuttings, you worked hard! A month or two later, your garden was looking REALLY good, green, healthy....until POW! All these bugs...these icky, ugly, monstrous bugs started attacking your veggies, fruits and flowers (my oh my where did they come from?).
You make a mad dash to your favorite store to pick up Sevin-Dust, sprinkle it on your garden, and four hours later you find out the bugs have now set up mini-tiki torches, have punch bowls ready, some are making finger sandwiches with your baby cukes, sent out invitations to their nearest and dearest, have even drawn the map for all to find the party spot and you weren't even invited!
Why is that? Sevin-Dust strength has deteriorated in the past few years, says an extension officer from the Fredericksburg area. A better option you ask? Pyrethrin (I'd never heard of this)! So on this beautiful morn, I'm headed outdoors to give a try with Pyrethrin (from Roxbury). Good luck on your gardens, neighbors! Let me know how it grows!
